About me

I'm many things, among them a writer, Director of Curation at Medium, a member of three pyrotechnic clubs, and a beginning overlander. This year (2023) I'm working on the build-out of a Ford Ranger with an OVRLND Camper. I have a loosely held goal of driving to the Arctic Circle someday...maybe.

One of my most notable adventures so far was as an agriculture volunteer with Peace Corps in Ghana, West Africa, where I worked with cashew farming families for two years, 2011-2013.

I've also been a pro bubbler, goat milker and herd caretaker, a project manager and builder of web sites for companies like CrowdVine, MAKE Magazine and Maker Faire, and O'Reilly. I have had some good escapades in a very strange career path.

I try to be a good aunt to the greatest kids in the world. I dabble in birding and wildlife watching, permaculture, kayaking, photography, painting, zen, fishing, and learning from any sort of counterculture.

I live and play in the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed.

I am the luckiest woman in the world.
